Project Overview

I produced a professional, engaging interview video for WSM Industries, spotlighting their new apprentice toolmaker, Harry Lingard. The video aimed to showcase the company's partnership with a local college, highlighting their dedication to nurturing skilled talent through their apprenticeship scheme. The project offered an inside look at the training and career opportunities WSM provides.

My Role:

During the shoot, I spent several hours capturing Harry at work, using dynamic B-roll footage of his tasks within the warehouse and tool-making facility to illustrate his daily activities. To create depth and context, I conducted carefully crafted interviews, both with Harry—focusing on his personal experiences and growth—and Steve, the head of WSM, who provided insight into the apprenticeship program's significance. Post-production involved editing these interviews seamlessly with engaging visuals to create a compelling narrative around WSM’s commitment to skill development and community engagement.

Deliverables:

  • One main interview-based video (approximately 3–4 minutes), professionally edited with relevant branded visuals.

  • High-quality B-roll footage capturing detailed work processes, warehouse activities, and tool-making procedures.

  • Structured interviews highlighting the personal growth of the apprentice and the company’s collaboration with the local college.

Impact & Outcome:

The video successfully highlighted WSM's dedication to employee development and industry education, significantly boosting the company's community image and reputation among local stakeholders. It generated positive responses across WSM’s digital channels, enhancing the visibility of their apprenticeship opportunities. Feedback from WSM was highly positive, noting the video’s professional quality, authenticity, and effectiveness in attracting interest from both prospective apprentices and industry peers.
